David Carradine, who starred as the title character in Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill, has died in Bangkok. He was 72.

The Oscar-nominated actor was found hanged in his hotel room in an apparent suicide, according to a local newspaper. His body was reportedly discovered in a closet by a hotel maid at about 10 a.m. Thursday morning. Carradine was in Thailand shooting a movie.

Carradine was part of a Hollywood acting dynasty that included father John Carradine and brother Keith Carradine. He is best known for his role as Kwai Chang Caine on the '70s TV series Kung Fu, and received an Oscar nod for his role as Woody Guthrie in Bound for Glory in 1976.

More recently, he was introduced to a new generation of movie-goers by co-starring with Uma Thurman in Kill Bill, Vols. 1 & 2.

Carradine is survived by his fifth wife, Annie Bierman, whom he married in 2004.
