Actress Cynthia Nixon announced her engagement to girlfriend Christine Marinoni on Sunday at a rally to support legalizing same-sex marriage in New York. Nixon, 43, reportedly flashed a diamond engagement ring and said, "It's time already." The actress has previously stated that she would wed Marinoni if same-sex marriage was legalized in New York. "I think we'd like to do it in a real, actual, legal way that the state would recognize."

The couple began dating in 2004, after Cynthia split from longtime boyfriend Danny Mozes with whom she has two children: Samantha, 12, and Charles, 6. Nixon is set to begin filming the sequel to Sex and the City this summer.
