Executive-cum-publicist with experience at Universal and Disney who, after a stint in New Zealand, assumed responsibility for the marketing campaigns of such successful Orion films as "Dances with Wolves" (1990) and "The Silence of the Lambs" (1991). Despite La Monte's efforts, Orion declared bankruptcy in December of 1991. The following month, though, she was appointed to the newly created post of executive vice president for marketing of Orion Distribution Corporation, the releasing arm of Orion Pictures.
