A tights-wearing, masked superhero? Check. A curly-haired sword wielder? Check. A preppie, do-no-wrong college student? Check. While Hollywood always had its share of golden boys, no one played the part quite like Chris O’Donnell. He captured movie audiences’ hearts in “Scent of a Woman” (1992), where he played a student forced to accompany a grumpy, old and blind military officer opposite Al Pacino. While it was Pacino’s outbursts and unwieldy ways that dominated the film, O’Donnell held his own with an unexpected strength of character and a quiet determination that fit his movie character.
