Former entertainment industry attorney turned independent producer and studio executive. With partner Edward S. Feldman, Meeker formed F/M Entertainment which was responsible for "The Hitcher", "Hamburger...the Motion Picture" and "Golden Child" (all 1986) as well as "Near Dark" (1987) and "Wired" (1989). Meeker was named president of MGM-Pathe in May 1991 making him the studio's chief financial executive.
