biography

Pretty, wavy-haired Brooklyn native Carla Gallo got her start with a supporting role the independent feature "Spanking the Monkey" in 1994 and later revisited her college experience at Cornell as an undergraduate on the Fox series "Undeclared" (2001- ). A graduate of New York's famed High School of Music, Art and the Performing Arts, Gallo attended Cornell University as a theater arts major and earned her bachelor's degree having already essayed the role of the inexperienced teen whom Jeremy Davies dates to his dissatisfaction in David O. Russell's controversial film "Spanking the Monkey". Appearances in the popular NBC series "Law & Order" (1999) and "ER" (2000) followed. Gallo next hit the big screen in Nancy Savoca's "The 24 Hour Woman", but "Undeclared" gave her an opportunity to increase both her character's development and her screen time. As Lizzie, the charming and pretty psych major who catches the eye of undeclared Steven (Jay Baruchel) while dealing with her overbearing boyfriend (Jason Segel) back home Gallo proved a talented and appealing actress, capable of tackling both tender moments and wacky comic bits with aplomb.
