Production executive who entered the industry while still in law school as assistant to MPAA chief Jack Valenti in Washington. Berman honed his production skills assisting producer Peter Guber at Casablanca Film Works and Sean Daniel and Joel Silver at Universal Pictures before advancing to vice president of production at Universal where he worked under studio heads Ned Tanen, Bob Rehme and Frank Price. He joined Warner Bros. in 1984 as vice president of production, was named senior vice president, and then president of production in 1989 where he was responsible for "The Lost Boys" (1987), "Lean on Me" (1989), "Presumed Innocent" (1990) "New Jack City" and "Curly Sue" (both 1991). In September 1991 Berman was promoted to president of worldwide production at Warner Bros., a position he held until 1996 when he formed his own production company Fund B Entertainment.
