Can Beyonce actually sing? That's the question people have been asking themselves after audio of an off-key performance from The Today Show was "leaked." The clip has been circulating around the web, and Howard Stern even gave the painful-to-listen-to song some airplay. But rest easy, B-fans, it turns out the recording is a fake. TMZ even found the person responsible, who was surprised that the prank got so much publicity.

After the clip surfaced, Beyonce's father and manager, Matthew Knowles, quickly refuted it's authenticity, saying it was "obviously altered." "If no one took the time to listen to Beyonce sing 'America the Beautiful' and 'At Last' at the Neighborhood Ball for the first dance of President Obama and the First Lady, and they question Beyonce's vocal ability, they've gotta be an idiot," he said in a statement. As of Wednesday, Beyonce hadn't heard the recording, but said the story sounded "completely ridiculous."

Listen to the altered audio here. It may not be real, but it's still pretty funny.
