Anthony Clark is a small-town Southern boy who went to college in Boston, Massachusetts, and tinged his down-home humor with an urban edge to become a successful stand-up comedian. In his first starring role in the sitcom "Boston Common" (NBC, 1996-97), he portrayed a small-town Southern boy who ventures to Boston to watch over his college-student sister and becomes the janitor at her dorm where he often makes everyone laugh.The Virginia native, who was raised on a tobacco farm, began his career as a child performer, appearing in stage musicals like "Li'l Abner" and "The Music Man".
