Rashida Jones, who once came between Jim and Pam during a guest stint on The Office, has signed on for the Amy Poehler comedy that was originally conceived as an Office spinoff on NBC.
Jones will reportedly play a nurse named Ann Logan. Details of the as-yet-untitled sitcom, from the creators of the American version of The Office, are few. The only other actor attached to the project so far is Aziz Ansari, who had a brief but memorable role on HBO's Flight of the Conchords.
Jones previously played Karen Filippelli, who dated Jim during season three of The Office. She is expected to appear in at least one episode of The Office this season.
NBC has said the new sitcom could air as early as spring 2009.
